Donating in memory of a loved one is a thoughtful way of celebrating their life and supporting the vital work of our Charity. You can also leave a special message on our Memory Wall dedicated to your loved one.

We are always grateful for any donation, no matter how small, and would like to thank you for thinking of our Charity at this difficult time.

Gift Aid

As an independent registered charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance is entitled to HMRC’s Gift Aid scheme. This means that for every £1 donated, we can claim a further 25p from the government. So a donation of £1 would become £1.25, a donation of £5 is boosted to £6.25 and a £10 donation increases to £12.50 and so on, at no extra cost to you.

Please note that we can only claim Gift Aid on personal donations made by a UK taxpayer and not on business or corporate donations.

You will be given the option to opt into Gift Aid during the donation process. You can also complete our online Gift Aid Declaration form, allowing us to claim Gift Aid on any eligible donations you have made in the last four years.

If you would like to create a dedicated tribute page in memory of your loved one, where friends and family can share memories visit our Giving in Memory page, where you can set up your lasting tribute.

David Shuttleworth

From Family and friends

A generous donation of £600 was given to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, in lieu of flowers, in memory of David Shuttleworth who sadly passed away in December aged 81 years. David was Leading Ambulance Man who was based at Northallerton station for 31 years. He started with North Riding County Council Ambulance Service in 1961, retiring in 1992. He dealt with many serious situations over the years which included coach crashes at Yarm and Helmsley and was involved in the 1967 train crash at Thirsk which killed 7 and injured 44. The local ambulance service was praised in the official report for their rapid attendance and the efficient manner in which the casualties were extracted and removed to The Friarage Hospital for their care. At his retirement he said ‘He had no regrets and would do it all again’.
